Vol. 7, Issue 5
March Pack Night: March 11th @ 6:30pm
Blue and Gold Banquet
Thank you all who attended our annual Blue and Gold banquet. The medieval meal and tournament was festive and fun! We bid a warm farewell to our AOL scouts, who are moving on to enjoy the next adventure on their scouting journey. We also gave a bittersweet farewell to our beloved long-time leader, Julie Jeffries. We look forward now to the rest of our scouting year leading up to the advancement of all our scouts their next rank!
Let's go for a bike ride!
Mark your calendars for this year's spring outing; our Bike Rodeo!
When: April 19th, 1pm-3pm.
Where: Castle Park (next to YMS)
What: Bring bikes AND Helmets* any individual riding a bike at this event must wear a helmet.
We will have a guest present to discuss bike safety and maintenance, and we will also have opportunity for scouts to ride the bike trail loop around the park. This will be a great opportunity for our pack to accomplish an elective adventure all together, to enjoy some time outdoors, and to get some exercise after our winter hibernation!
Fundraising Opportunity!
This spring, your scouts will have an opportunity to bolster their scout accounts. This fundraiser will include Granola, Popcorn, beef sticks, and more. All orders will be placed via an online storefront, and orders will be shipped directly to buyers. The pack is NOT taking any portion of this fundraiser towards pack expenses. Any proceeds will go directly to your scouts. The online storefront for this fundraiser will be open from March 11th until April 7th.
Saturday, March 7th
March's hike will be at the Virgil L Gilman Trail Central loop, starting at 2pm. Please remember to dress for the weather. March can be unpredictable!
Can't join during the Pack Hike? Then grab your scout and the whole family if you want and track your miles:
Here are the requirements:
Location must be the same as designed for the pack hike
Miles logged will be a max of 3 miles. Meaning if the scout is having so much fun that they end up hiking 5 great but we will only be logging 3 or if a lion can only hike 1.5 miles then they would get 1.5 miles logged.
Only 1 hike may be used for the monthly hike. meaning if a scout goes every weekend to hike 3 miles...yea but we are only logging 1, 3 mile hike
Use the AllTrails App to log your hike route and length. Send a screenshot to Mr. Potts or Mr. Johnson, and we'll get them logged for you.
Reminder: At the Pack level miles are rounded to the nearest half mile....so if you hike 1.10 miles this will be logged as 1 mile....if you hike 1.36 miles this will be logged at 1.5.
